Build a Business that Works.
Being a great clinician doesn't automatically prepare you to run a great business.
Whether you're thinking about starting a private practice, trying to grow an existing business, or looking to improve your business financials you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
I provide business consulting and coaching for clinicians who want to build strong, sustainable businesses without compromising the quality of their work.
Clinical training only gets you so far.
Most clinicians go into private practice because they want more autonomy, flexibility, or to build something of their own… but then come the questions no one prepared you for:
How much should I charge?
Can I afford to hire someone?
Should I take insurance?
How many clients do I actually need to see?
Why is my revenue growing but my profit isn't?
What should I be paying myself? How do I pay myself?
How do I know whether an opportunity is worth pursuing?
How do I scale?
These aren't clinical questions. They're business questions.
And getting them wrong can be expensive.
Drawing on 15 years of business experience, 20+ years of clinical experience, doctoral work in implementation, and business school, I work with clinicians to build businesses that work for them.
What’s included in consultation:
1. Initial Consultation
Our process starts with a conversation. We will discuss your business goals, evaluate the health of your current business if you have one, and determine if my expertise is a good fit for your needs. From there we will work together to establish goals, identify barriers, and create an action oriented plan to help you get your business growing.
2. Implementation
Once a plan is in place, we will work together in an ongoing process that involves strategies, data monitoring, revision, and continued improvement until you’ve achieved your goals.
Business advice from someone who understands your business.
I've built and operated businesses in the same world you're working in.
I understand reimbursement, staffing, productivity, payroll, compliance, overhead, scheduling, cancellations, benefits, documentation, hiring, leadership, and the constant balancing act between providing excellent care and running a financially healthy business.
I've also taught entrepreneurship to graduate students, helping future clinicians understand the financial, operational, and strategic side of healthcare practice.
That combination matters.
I bring together firsthand business ownership, formal business training, teaching, clinical experience, and evidence to help you make thoughtful decisions about your business.
